Scope of this Standard
This standard establishes requirements for funeral home operations. Included are requirements for facilities and the provision of funeral services. This standard is applicable to: a) funeral homes, or their agents or representatives; and b) entities operating crematoria. NOTE Funeral Homes may offer both funeral and crematorium services. This standard does not apply to any public institution, medical school, medical society, anatomical association, college of embalming, or any person prescribing the conditions under which indigent human dead bodies are held as the subject for scientific or anatomical study.
